What We Do
Caring for Our Port Stephens Youth (COPSY) is a registered charity that was established to evaluate possible services, advocate, facilitate and support an effective, sustainable and free counselling service for youth in Port Stephens.
Our Story
Caring for Our Port Stephens Youth (COPSY) is a community group of volunteers whose purpose is to ensure the best possible independent youth health & wellbeing service to satisfy the needs of all young people who are at risk in Port Stephens. It is not affiliated to any religious or other organisation.
March 2019, saw COPSY formally launch jupiter; its free counselling service for Port Stephens youth aged 12 – 21 years at the Tomaree Library & Community Centre
March 2021 saw the service expanded to Tanilba Bay – “Tilli Place” is a joint project with the Tomaree Neighbourhood Centre – on the Tilligerry Peninsula.
March 2022 saw a third site opened in Raymond Terrace.


Sustaining and supporting jupiter
COPSY needs your support and values your contribution. As a registered charity, it is reliant on donations, grants, and fundraising events to provide easily-accessed, confidential counselling for young people at risk through jupiter – “a space to talk”. Your donation is important to us and will be directed toward meeting the core operational costs of the counselling service.
You can make a donation by either:
- By sending a cheque to COPSY at PO Box 384, Salamander Bay NSW 2317, or
- By direct deposit to the COPSY at Newcastle Permanent, BSB 650 300, A/C No 521 727 600, or
- By using the donate button below using your debit or credit card. You will be given the option of making a one-off, or regular donation.
Note that all donations over $2 are fully tax-deductible. To get your receipt for tax purposes, make sure you provide your email or postal address when you make your donation.
